Caesar salad

Caesar salad

Caesar salad is a classic salad that consists of romaine lettuce, croutons, Parmesan cheese, and a Caesar dressing made with anchovies, garlic, Dijon mustard, egg yolks, olive oil, and lemon.

Ingredients for the dressing:

  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2-3 anchovy fillets, finely chopped
  • 2 egg yolks
  • 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

    Ingredients for the salad:

  • 1 large head of romaine lettuce, washed and chopped into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup croutons
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions:

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the minced garlic, finely chopped anchovies, egg yolks, Dijon mustard, and lemon juice. Slowly drizzle in the olive oil while whisking continuously until the dressing is emulsified and smooth.

  2. Add the grated Parmesan cheese and whisk until well combined. Season the dressing with salt and black pepper to taste.

  3. In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce and croutons. Pour the dressing over the top and toss to coat the lettuce and croutons evenly.

  4. Sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese over the top of the salad and toss again.

  5. Serve immediately and enjoy!

Note: You can add grilled chicken, shrimp, or salmon to the Caesar salad for added protein. If you prefer a vegetarian or vegan version of the salad, you can substitute the anchovies with capers and omit the egg yolks.
